Join AAHP and its esteemed partners for a powerful and inspiring afternoon together celebrating breast cancer survivors and caregivers at the inaugural “The Park Goes Pink” breast cancer awareness event on Saturday, October 12, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Wheaton Regional Park. This event is dedicated to honoring the strength, resilience, and care provided by those affected by breast cancer as we acknowledge Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The Park Goes Pink will feature Maryland State Delegate Pamela Queen, a breast cancer survivor, telling her story of survival and advocacy and AAHP staff presenting on cancer prevention and early detection. Delegate Queen, along with other survivors, caregivers, medical professionals, and advocates, will offer insight and share their experiences to inspire hope and action. This community event will also feature 20-25 vendors and resource tables, where participants can gather essential information on breast cancer warning signs, treatment options, and local support groups. There will be special features and resources for men as well. Whether you’re a survivor, caregiver, or someone looking to support the cause, this event is designed to provide encouragement and valuable resources.
