Executive Coalition

The AAHP Executive Coalition is a union of individuals and organizations committed to the elimination of health disparities in Montgomery County’s Black community. The Coalition is an extension of the AAHP Executive Committee.  The Executive Coalition assists the AAHP Executive Committee by: 
  • Supporting and assisting in the advocacy of AAHP and the physical and mental wellbeing of the Black community; 
  • Helping other Executive Coalition members, organizations, and the community be better informed about the health disparities that affect the Black Montgomery community and the offerings and services provided by the AAHP, as well as, by the Health and Human Services and other entities; 
  • Identifying strengths, assets, and opportunities within the community to promote the elimination of barriers to health disparities of Blacks in Montgomery County; 
  • Assisting with obtaining community commitment to ensure equitable and comprehensive health for the Black community, regardless of socioeconomic status; 
  • Helping to educate the public on the health disparities affecting the Black community; 
  • Promoting the establishment of partnerships between AAHP and grassroots organizations, hospitals, medical providers, community representatives, faith-based organizations, community organizations, county agencies, state agencies, and/or federal agencies in order to better serve Montgomery County’s Black community.
  • Advocating for issues, pertinent to Black residents, related to health policy, management, service delivery, research, education, funding, and legislation.
