AAHP is taking bold action against the HIV/AIDS epidemic through its annual National Black HIV & AIDS Awareness Day (NBHAAD) event. On February 5, 2025, health agencies and professionals, community leaders and activists will gather at the Silver Spring Civic Center, 1 Veterans Place, Silver Spring, MD 20910, 5PM-8PM, to address the HIV and AIDS epidemic disproportionately affecting African American communities, especially among women and children. This event aims to raise awareness, promote education and inspire collaborative efforts to combat these health disparities.
AAHP’s NBHAAD event attendees can look forward to inspirational presentations, including a keynote address and workshops led by prominent health professionals and experts. These sessions will focus on prevention, treatment, and the importance of advocacy in combating the ongoing HIV/AIDS crisis. As part of the evening, a creative group art activity will celebrate resilience and the strength of the community. In addition to the educational components, the event will provide free HIV screenings, with gift cards offered to individuals who participate in testing. Guests can also enjoy delicious food and beverages, lively entertainment from a DJ, and exciting giveaways throughout the evening.
Join AAHP for this impactful evening and help drive change in the fight against HIV/AIDS. RSVP here or RSVP by contacting Joyceta Cole at 240.777.1833.
