AAHP's Aging Subcommittee Sponsors First File of Life Completion event
On Wednesday, December 11th, 2019 AAHP’s Aging subcommittee sponsored its first File of Life Completion event at The People’s Community Baptist Church for the Generation One ministry, which brings together nearly 200 African American seniors every Wednesday for worship, fellowship, and lunch. AAHP staff members, as part of AAHP’s partnership with the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service, helped distribute and complete 190 Files of Life during the event.
Throughout 2020, the File of Life completion campaign will continue helping African American older adults at senior centers, senior residences, and churches complete their Files of Life to ensure that medical personnel have the information they need to provide our seniors with the very best care in an emergency situation.
The African American Health Program is funded and administered by the Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services and implemented by McFarland & Associates, Inc.
